Trans-Siberian Orchestra Celebrates Their Biggest Year to Date With One Million People Experiencing One of the Top Tours of 2006!

“One of the hottest live acts in the country”—The Associated Press.

New York, NY- Tuesday, January 16th, 2007- As the 2006 winter season came to a close, musical phenomenon Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO) capped off their 8th annual concert tour and most successful year to date. In an outstanding feat, TSO rocked more than 1 million people making their 2006 Winter Tour one of the Top 10 attended tours in North America (according to Pollstar).

TSO went into overdrive in order to accommodate the demand from fans for tickets, the band played 118 shows this tour alone, bringing the total to over 2 million people who have seen them in just the past three years. TSO, with its timeless message and powerful live show, has become a tradition amongst families and music lovers. Since the group’s inception in 1996, their album sales and radio spins have annually continued to increase and 2006 was no different. The band saw a 17% jump in album sales bringing their total album sales for the year to well over 850,000.

TSO’s newest single, “Wizards In Winter," hit the Top 10 on the Mediabase AC Chart, while longtime radio favorites "Christmas Canon" and "Christmas Eve Sarajevo" continued to be recurrent hits with over 20,000 spins combined. In 2006 the band was also met with critical acclaim from major print and television outlets. The band graced the small screen this past December with incredible performances on Live With Regis & Kelly and Good Morning America Weekend. The band also received a page 1 story in The New York Times’ Business section which proclaimed of TSO that “the last several winters have been mean seasons for the music business, filled with talk of declining CD sales, rumors of layoffs and uncertainty about the digital future. During each of these winters, however, there has been one industry success that might qualify as a Christmas miracle.”

Also, the Associated Press exclaimed that TSO is one of “the hottest live acts in the country,” while the Boston Herald declared that “TSO has become a major family attraction in the past decade”… “TSO electrifies Christmastime.”  Just days in to the new year, TSO is already looking forward to 2007. The group is hard at work putting the finishing touches on their long awaited rock opera “Night Castle.” With fans already calling this one of the most exciting bands on the road today, TSO is exploring how to push the concert envelope even further in 2007.
