Teen Vocal Sensation Whitney Wolanin To Perform At Youth Crime Watch of America’s 20th Anniversary Celebration & Reunion On October 20, 2006 In Miami Beach, FL
When role model and rising pop star Whitney Wolanin (pronounced WO-Lan-in) released her own set of online safety tips last spring, the Youth Crime Watch of America invited her to be the organization’s spokesperson. Now the vocal sensation is gearing up to help them celebrate over two decades of making the lives of youth better! Whitney will perform at the Youth Crime Watch of America’s 20th Anniversary Celebration & Reunion on October 20th at Parrot Jungle Island in Miami, FL.
Whitney will perform songs off of her debut album Funkology XIII, including “Wake Up Everybody”, because the words of that song speak to the purpose and promise of Youth Crime Watch of America. In addition to performing, Whitney will sign autographs for those attending the celebration.
Youth Crime Watch of America has programs across the country and around the world, demonstrating that young people can make a difference in keeping their schools and communities safe from crime, drugs and violence.
Whitney has witnessed "cyber-bullying" and "cyber-stalking" first hand and has created a simple list of tips for teens to remain safe and to protect their personal identity. She first offered her tips to her fans, friends and relatives after her own family and classmates were affected by users who abuse online communities such as MySpace. Whitney’s tips are featured and available for viewing on the Youth Crime Watch of America web site.
Whitney recently wrapped-up recording in the studio for Christmasology, featuring 15 of the world's favorite sacred and secular classics. The first single “Frosty The Snowman” will be released to radio on November 7th.
