Columbia Records Releasing Expanded Edition Of David Gilmour's Top 10 Album, 'On An Island' Featuring Bonus DVD Of Live Performances From 2006 AOL Sessions & Abbey Road Session In Stores Tuesday November 21, 2006
Santa Monica - October 4, 2006 (source: Columbia Records) - Columbia Records will release a deluxe expanded edition of David Gilmour's best-selling solo album, "On An Island," on Tuesday, November 21, 2006.
The new edition of "On An Island" will include Gilmour's Top 10 album in its entirety plus an exclusive DVD of live material capturing the Pink Floyd guitarist's April 2006 AOL Sessions in New York in six mesmerizing tracks: "On An Island," "This Heaven," "Smile," "Take A Breath," "High Hopes," and "Comfortably Numb."
The DVD also premieres a rare new take (Abbey Road Session August 2006) on Syd Barrett's "Astronomy Domine" (from Pink Floyd's 1967 debut album, "The Piper At The Gates of Dawn.")
Released on March 7, 2006 David Gilmour's long-awaited third solo album, On An Island, the first CarbonNeutral® CD to be released by Columbia Records, debuted at #1 in UK and #1 on European Billboard Charts.
