Las Vegas-based Punk-Pop band The Screaming MeeMees featuring Evan Page are slated to play the Annual Benefit Concert For Breast Cancer: BreastFest 2006 to be held at The Gig in Hollywood on Thursday, November 16th. Their set-time will be 8:30pm and all proceeds from sponsorships, donations, ticket sales and merchandise will go towards breast cancer research in Southern California, including UCLA's Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center.
This benefit for breast cancer research and awareness is held annually in Los Angeles and features hot rock acts and other talent. Past concerts have featured gold and platinum artists including The Exies, Duncan Sheik, Stephan Jenkins of Third Eye Blind, Abra Moore, Grant Lee Phillips (formerly of Grant Lee Buffalo), and Daniel Ashe of Love & Rockets. BreastFest focuses on using popular music to tap into a younger generation of people and educate this particular demographic about risks, early detection and advancements made in cancer research and treatment.
The Screaming MeeMees will enthusiastically be auctioning off a Daisy Rock guitar at the benefit, arranged directly with the custom instrument company to donate for the cause. Daisy Rock founder Tish Ciravolo is an avid supporter of issues that affect women and is more than willing to donate in support of the benefit.
