Joshua Radin On-Board With The Hotel Cafe Tour Debut Album 'We Were Here' In Stores Now Through Columbia Records
New York – November 1, 2006 – Acclaimed, emerging singer-songwriter Joshua Radin is bringing his soulful blend of deeply felt poetics, emotional resonance and finely spun melodies to this year's Hotel Café tour. Once just a small coffee shop, The Hotel Café has quickly blossomed into not only one of the premier singer/songwriter venues in the United States, but also an all-purpose clubhouse for a burgeoning community of Los Angeles songwriters and now a tour. The seven week outing with Radin began on October 2nd and runs through mid November (see dates below).
Joshua Radin, an old-school tunesmith and lyrical craftsman who forgoes technical gimmickry, received rave reviews on his recently-released debut album We Were Here, out on Columbia Records. Featured in Elle Magazine and drawing a four star review from Rolling Stone, his music has been compared to that of Simon and Garfunkle, Nick Drake and contemporizes like Ray Lamontagne.
Some of Joshua Radin’s success can be credited to longtime friend and fan, Zach Braff, who brought Radin’s music to primetime, including the song “Winter” on the NBC television sitcom Scrubs. Since then, Radin’s heartfelt music has proved to be the perfect accompaniment to some of TV’s hottest shows. His songs “Closer” and “The Fear You Won’t Fall” have been featured on Grey’s Anatomy, while "Everything'll Be Alright (Will's Lullaby)," appeared on both the inaugural episode of ABC's new prime time drama Brothers & Sisters and on the season premiere of The CW's One Tree Hill.
In addition, Radin's song, "Star Mile," can be heard in the film and soundtrack for Last Kiss, starring Zach Braff and Rachel Bilson. "What If You," another track from We Were Here, will be featured in the upcoming Catch & Release starring Jennifer Garner.
Radin's live performances have made him a favorite emerging artist among discerning music fans in his native Los Angeles. His legendary Monday night residency at the Los Angeles Hotel Café led to a tour of than 15 cities across America in the autumn of 2005 with Rachel Yamagata, Tom McRae, Butch Walker and Cary Brothers.
Co-presented by Myspace.com and (RED)™, with help from KCRW in Los Angeles, The Hotel Café Tour has assembled partners to help continue to extend its sense of community.
