Area Concert Fans Will 'Love It Live' Again In 2006 DTE Energy Music Theatre And Meadow Brook Music Festival Announce 2006 Summer Concert Schedules

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., May 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Palace Sports and Entertainment (PS&E) announces the 2006 schedules for DTE Energy Music Theatre and Meadow Brook Music Festival (combined schedule attached). More than 100 events are scheduled, including summer concerts at The Palace. Additional shows will be announced as tour plans develop.

Continuing the "Love It Live" theme launched last year, PS&E is providing one of the largest and most varied lists of events in the nation, offering more shows with $10 lawn tickets than ever while maintaining and re-introducing a number of value-oriented and guest service-based procedures.

"The experience of a live concert is unmatched in terms of enjoying music but our area's concert-goers have found it's even better outdoors on a beautiful Michigan summer night," said Tom Wilson, President and CEO of PS&E. "Especially with our short season, we strive to make this experience as accessible as possible by providing a wide variety of events, maintaining a comfortable, guest-friendly environment, providing value options for tickets and allowing tailgating and picnicking for most events."

Nearly one million area concert fans loved it live in 2005 as DTE Energy Music Theatre remained the nation's most-attended amphitheatre for the 15th consecutive summer with more than 776,000 guests and Meadow Brook Music Festival enjoyed its highest attendance total ever with more than 185,000 patrons.

The 2006 summer concert schedule includes PS&E's largest and most varied list of shows ever offering $10 lawn tickets (including parking for DTE Energy Music Theatre concerts) to make it easy to "Love It Live" for less.

Event-goers will also love the benefits of the amphitheatres' concert series sponsorship by Belle Tire in 2006, the first concert series to ever to incorporate both DTE Energy Music Theatre and Meadow Brook Music Festival. Michigan's largest independent tire retailer will be offering in-store promotions and special giveaways to provide even more opportunities to enjoy shows in the Michigan summertime.

While attending events, guests will love the continued guest services policy of welcoming pre-show tailgating in the lot and picnicking in the picturesque Parents Park just outside the two main gates at DTE Energy Music Theatre. Food in picnic baskets or small coolers (no glass items allowed), beach chairs, binoculars and blankets will again be allowed into the grounds of both venues for most every show (visit palacenet.com or call 248/377-0100 to confirm) to enjoy on the lawn or at the many tables throughout the grounds.

Early arrivers can enjoy pre-show entertainment at select shows at a special karaoke stage in the East Village plaza inside the East Entrance.

Concert-goers who prefer to travel more lightly will find an expanded menu of food and beverages available, with food and drink combos to provide value. In addition, concessionaire Centerplate will be offering themed food and drink specials for specific shows, in keeping with the "flavor" of the performer.

PS&E ownership includes The Palace and DTE Energy Music Theatre, as well as the management of Meadow Brook Music Festival on the campus of Oakland University. Combined, PS&E's Michigan venues average 300 events and 3.5 million guests annually.
