Sparta To Begin Recording New Album In Los Angeles On March 21, 2006 Yet-To-Be-Titled Disc Set For A September 26, 2006 Release Latest Video Podcast Introduces New Guitarist Keeley Davis

Sparta has announced a September 26, 2006 release date for their highly anticipated Hollywood Records debut. The band (vocalist/guitarist Jim Ward, drummer Tony Hajjar, bassist Matt Miller and guitarist Keeley Davis) has tapped Dave Bassett to produce the yet-to-be titled album, with recording set to begin on March 21, 2006 in Los Angeles, CA.

"After one meeting with Dave we knew we had found our guy," said Hajjar. "Dave wants to approach this record by concentrating on every aspect from every drum hit to every word to make each song stand on its own. That is exactly what we wanted to do this record." "We've written 27 songs for the record and can't wait to get started."

As previously announced, the band is producing a series of video podcasts. The latest installment introduces new guitarist Keeley Davis, formerly of the Richmond, VA-based groups Denali and Engine Down. Fans can view the exclusive footage at www.spartamusic.com.
