With A Little Help From Their Friends Permanent Me Gear Up for the Release of Dear Virginia, Recruiting Members of Nightmare of You, Rival Schools, Midtown, Sum41

NORTH BELLMORE, NY - Sometimes it really helps to have friends in high places. But in the case of I Surrender recording artists, PERMANENT ME, having the right kind of friends isn't a crutch but icing on the cake. Readying for the release of their EP, Dear Virginia, on May 2, 2006, these four stalwarts have crafted a record packed with immediate melodic hooks, big fat guitars, and a rhythm section that's wound tighter than a Rolex. With members of current musical luminaries such as Nightmare of You, Midtown, Rival Schools, and Sum41 and with buzz producer mastermind Matt Squire (Panic! at the Disco, Downtown Singapore) joining in, this ain't your normal batch of post-punk. "We're really excited for this release because it's our very first release on a label," said bassist Justin Morrell humbly. "We feel this record has to be strong because this is our debut and we don't want to let anyone down."

Discovered by Nightmare of You's Joe McCaffrey while browsing MySpace, he and the band formed a management relationship that got the ball rolling quite quickly. Meanwhile, while browsing the website AbsolutePunk, Midtown's Rob Hitt fell upon the band when he saw them listened as a 'Sunday Recommendation' and quickly jumped in the game and signed the band to his label I Surrender Records to release their EP. And meanwhile even still, Sum41's Deryck Wimbley heard the demo of 'Allison,' fell in love with the song, and signed on to mix the track. With all these fortuitous coincidences and odd stumblings, more and more musicians joined the fray. Rival School's Ian Love added his engineering skill for the tracks 'Later On', 'Ambient and Grey,' and 'Setting off the Beautiful' while uber-producer Matt Squire jumped in to record and produce 'Allison.' Added bassist Justin Morell about working with Nightmare of You/Rival Schools" Sammy Siegler who produced three tracks, "Working with him is always a great and funny experience. When we were tracking drums and bass he was dancing in the live drum room hitting cymbals during takes and yelling when ever Mike would hit a great take, he's really into the music and just lets everything go when it comes to producing."

Formerly known as "Yes, Virginia," the foundations of Permanent Me were first laid when both Brian Kapler (vocals/guitar) and Joe Guccione (guitar/vocals) decided that, at the age of 14, life was too short to be stuck inside playing video games or doing homework, and started jamming. Throughout their high school years the pair continued to move from band to band until they finally decided to branch off and form their own project. They recruited Mike Fleischmann, a exceptionally gifted and well-known drummer on the Long Island music scene and completed their line up last year with the addition of Justin Morell on bass.

With Dear Virginia, set for release in May, Permanent Me are ready for a big entrance into the music scene. "We are so excited with the final record we can't wait to show everyone who Permanent Me is," concluded Justin. With a slot on Bamboozle and a tour with The Militia Group's Cartel set for May, seems like they won't have to wait too long.
