Grammy Winning Duo The Indigo Girls Sign Exclusive Recording Agreement With Hollywood Records Highly Anticipated New Album Due September 13, 2006

(LOS ANGELES) - The Indigo Girls, the Grammy-winning duo whose career has spanned two decades, twelve releases and more than 12 million album sales, have signed an exclusive worldwide recording agreement with Hollywood Records.

Their yet-to-be-titled Hollywood debut is scheduled for a September 19, 2006 release. The highly anticipated album, produced by Mitchell Froom (Paul McCartney, Elvis Costello, Sheryl Crow), will arrive almost twenty years after the release
of Amy Ray and Emily Saliers' first record, Strange Fire. Since
that release, the Indigo Girls have fashioned an illustrious
career highlighted by an astonishing run of gold and platinum albums, seven Grammy nominations and one win, critical acclaim and an ever-growing international fan base.

About the signing, Buena Vista Music Group Chairman Bob Cavallo said,"We are delighted to have the Indigo Girls at Hollywood. They have a wonderful history and a wealth of
music, and I'm looking forward to continuing that legacy with them."

"We are really excited to have a fresh start," says Ray. "We weighed our options and were ultimately won over by the enthusiasm and understanding of our music that Hollywood showed."

Ray and Saliers are currently recording in Froom's Los Angeles studio."The songs are written and we've been practicing and arranging for weeks," says Ray. "The music is still evolving, but so far it feels very full of energy and harmonies and all that good stuff. Emily is exploring complex topics and melodies and taking her voice into new places. I hear a lot of soul influences on her new songs. Some tracks will be bare bones acoustic and some will be all-out electric, but they will all be organic and true."
