Army Of Freshmen On A Jammed Packed Summer Tour Set
To Begin June 22, 2006 In Austin, TX
Army of Freshmen to play over 50 cities this
summer with Bowling for Soup
New York, NY – June 15, 2006 – California independent rock success, Army of Freshmen (AOF) is gearing up for a national tour with the Grammy nominated band, Bowling for Soup.
The “Get Happy Tour” will start in Austin, TX on June 22, 2006 and
travel across the country ending in the mile high city, Denver, CO on August 27, 2006 . AOF are already rising stars in Japan, where their out of the ordinary take on pop, punk and rock has landed them heavy rotation on MTV and festival appearances in that country, sharing the stage with acts like Radiohead. This summer’s tour will be in support of their new record, Under the Radar, which won’t be released to stores until this fall but will be available to purchase on the tour, digitally on itunes and directly from the band’s website.
“…AOF know how to write a hook and we wouldn’t be surprised if they blew up….” - Alternative Press.
“Anthem worthy pop songs that recall Weezer and Jimmy Eat World, AOF clearly have the potential to go all the way. Get in now!” - Kerrang.
“…keyboard quirky pop filled with hooks big enough to fill a stadium…” - AMP.
For over 8 years Army of Freshmen has fought against
the odds and without the help of a major label or booking agent, has managed to play over 700 shows in 39 states and 6 countries.
They have shared the stage with bands like AFI, Alkaline Trio, The Ataris, Fallout Boy, Fountains of Wayne, Good Charlotte, Sugarcult, Sum 41 and Yellowcard. AOF’s third record, Under the Radar, by far the bands most ambitious and hook filled record to date, features the single “Juliet” along with guest appearances from Jaret Reddick of Bowling For Soup, Marko72 of Sugarcult and Ben Harper of Yellowcard. Through their dizzying work ethic and close relationship with their fans, AOF has built a massive underground following that will only get bigger with this huge summer tour.
