What: Nickelback is bringing their first full US tour since the release of the Double Platinum album, All The Right Reasons, to the St. Pete Times Forum March 14 at 7:30pm with special guests Trapt and Chevelle.
All The Right Reasons has remained in the Top 10 of the Billboard Top 200 since its release 12 weeks ago- the only 2005 releases to match this feat came from superstars Mariah Carey, Kenny Chesney, 50 Cent, and Green Day. The hit single, "Photograph," is the #6 song in the U.S. (Track America) and presently tops the iTunes download charts.
Nickelback's 2001 breakthrough, Silver Side Up, sold over 6 million copies in the U.S. with three number one hits ("Too Bad," "Never Again" and their mega-successful breakout single, "How You Remind Me," which was the number one Most Played Song of 2002). All The Right Reasons is out-pacing Silver Side Up in the sales arena by 12% to-date, promising a huge run for the already Double-Platinum album. 2003's The Long Road went Triple-Platinum in the U.S. and included the radio hits "Someday" and "Figured You Out."
While Nickelback's music has always been deeply personal, on All The Right Reasons the band members (Chad Kroeger, Mike Kroeger, Ryan Peake & Daniel Adair) have also searched every inch of their sonic spectrum to create an album that appeals on many different levels to many different kinds of rock fans. This has been a large part of the band's immense success. The first hit single off the current album, "Photograph," is a glimpse back at vocalist Chad Kroeger's teenage years in which he recalls his first kiss, the friends he used to hang out with and the time he got busted for breaking into his high school. "I think I just wanted to take a trip down memory lane, and I wanted to see if I had enough ideas that would make other people take that trip, too," Kroeger says. The second single, the hard-rocker "Animals," is currently in the Top 10 at Rock radio formats. Next up for the band is the powerful "Savin Me," in late February.
Pollstar - the international newsweekly of the music industry, and one of the concert industry's leading publications, released a report today on ticket sales for the first half of 2005. The St. Pete Times Forum, in its ninth year of operation, ranked as the number one venue in the United States, and second in the world, with a total of 238,627 tickets sold to concerts, events and family shows for the period of 1/1/05 - 6/30/05. The study ranked the top 100 venues in the world by actual ticket sales for concert events and family shows.
