New York, NY- February 17, 2006 - VH1 Classic and World Productions have announced the next all-star line-up for the new live concert series, Decades Rock Live. Nine time GRAMMY Award winner Sheryl Crow will be honored at the next concert taping on April 7, 2006 at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, NJ. Tickets for the concert are on sale now. The Missouri-born singer-songwriter is celebrated as one of our last true rock stars and one of music’s most successful artists. Since exploding onto the global pop stage in 1993 with the multi-platinum album Tuesday Night Music Club, the one-time music teacher and studio vocalist has continued working at a breakneck pace. The release of each new album led immediately to the road, and rare time off was filled with collaborations with everyone from the Rolling Stones to Kid Rock to Willie Nelson. In this once in a lifetime Decades Rock Live concert experience, Crow will be honored by a remarkable group of musicians for her hard-won success and contributions to the music industry.
Sheryl Crow recently said about her upcoming Decades Rock Live honors, “I’m really excited about the concert and honored that all these amazing musicians are coming together to perform with me. I think the concept of the show will be a great experience for not only me as an artist, but all of my fans as well.”
Decades Rock Live is an innovative new live concert series that features performances by celebrated artists from rock to soul who have influenced popular music over the last 50 years, as well as performances from some of today’s hottest recording acts who have been inspired by these legends. The only live concert series of its kind, the program premiered on VH1 Classic on November 18, 2005. The debut episode honored Bonnie Raitt with special guest appearances by Norah Jones, Ben Harper, Keb Mo and Alison Krauss. The second installment in the series aired on VH1 Classic on January 27, 2006 by paying tribute to pop music icon Cyndi Lauper.
