Image Entertainment Brings New Moody Blues Concert To Home Video Filmed In High-Definition, DVD Release Captures Legendary British Rock Band During 2005 World Tour
CHATSWORTH, Calif. - Image Entertainment, Inc., a leading independent licensee, producer and distributor of home entertainment programming in North America, today announced the release of "The Moody Blues Live: Lovely to See You" on DVD.
Recorded live at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles on June 11, 2005 during the North American leg of their 2005 world tour, "The Moody Blues Live: Lovely to See You" DVD includes performances of the band's biggest hits, including "Tuesday Afternoon", "Nights In White Satin," "I'm Just A Singer (In A Rock & Roll Band)" and "Your Wildest Dreams," along with such rarely performed live gems as "Higher and Higher," "The Actor" and "Are You Sitting Comfortably?". Original members Justin Hayward (guitar and vocals), John Lodge (bass, guitar and vocals) and Graeme Edge (drums and percussion), are joined by Norda Mullen (flute and guitar), Gordon Marshall (drums and percussion), Paul Bliss (keyboards) and Bernie Barlow (backing vocals and keyboards).
The DVD was filmed live using 11 high-definition cameras, and will include a band interview as a bonus feature. "This was one of the most incredible live Moody Blues performances in recent history," said Barry Gordon, senior vice president of worldwide programming, Image Entertainment. "We used state-of-the-art technology and the best technical staff to capture all the energy and excitement of the actual performance."
The 2-disc, 20-track audio CD companion to "The Moody Blue Live: Lovely to See You" was released by Image Entertainment on November 15, 2005. This collection is the band's first live album without an orchestra since 1977's "The Moody Blues Caught Live + 5", which contained live material recorded at London's Royal Albert Hall in 1969.
