Mellowdrone Jumps Out Of The Box With Eye-Catching Video 'Oh My' In A First For 3 Records/Red Ink The Band's Major Label Debut Will Be Available Digitally March 7, 2006 One Month Before The Physical Release Hits Stores On April 4, 2006

Los Angeles - February 15, 2006 - Mellowdrone emerged a little battered and bruised after filming a video for "Oh My," from the L.A.-based quartet's Box marks a first for 3 Records/Red Ink. The album will be released digitally on March 7, and then will be available at regular retail outlets April 4.

"Oh My," directed by Vince Haycock (Vitamin Pictures.TV), the surreal clip features Mellowdrone band members falling from the sky and crashing into the desert floor in hyper-slow motion. To capture the unique visual effect, Haycock used a specialized camera originally used for scientific testing - one that shoots thousands more frames per second higher than a traditional film camera - to film the band members falling off a 15-foot platform.

Going into the video, Mellowdrone singer and guitarist Jonathan Bates says the band knew pain was part of the bargain. "Vince met with us in person because he wanted to see it in our eyes that we understand very clearly that part of the shoot required all of us to fall face first into the ground. On the last day of the shoot, it turned into a contest to see who could make the most hardcore face plant. Everyone gave up after Brian Borg (drummer) went down like a rock and almost broke his nose."

Produced by Tony Berg (Beck, X), the eclectic 13-song collection captures the band's mercurial sonic vision. Led by Bates, the band's chief songwriter, Box shifts effortlessly from moody space-pop that ripples with otherworldly textures ("Limb to Limb" and "Four Leaf Clover") to razor-sharp synth-pop pulsating with dance beats ("Oh My" and "Amazing") to brooding new wave imbued with slyly infectious melodies ("Beautiful Day," "And Repeat" and "Fashionably Uninvited").

Mellowdrone will preview Box on the road this winter. Dates to be announced soon.
