Arc The Finger Records February 2006 Update
What’s the word, True Believers? We’re taking a break from our weekly grind to bring you a quick update from the ATF family. Thank you for taking a break from your own hustle to catch up on what’s new in our camp.
"THE STANDARD" #1 ON THE HIP-HOP CHARTS
“The Standard” defended the number one slot on CMJ’s national Hip-hop chart for several weeks, ranking above a humbling list of giants the likes of Atmosphere, Dangerdoom, Talib Kweli, Blackalicious and Little Brother. Knocked out of pole position by worthy adversary (and just a damn nice guy) POS (Rhymesayers), “The Standard” is currently holding strong at number two.
PSYCHE O ON THE ROAD
Psyche Origami is about halfway through their 22 city “Still Gassed Up” 2006 winter tour. We are also finalizing a SE run that will start the first week in April. It isn't too late to check them out in a city near you:
02.21 Flanagan's (Whitefish, MT)
02.22 Neurolux (Boise, ID)
02.23 Whiskey Jacques(Ketchum, ID)
02.24 Zebra Lounge (Bozeman, MT)

CE'S NEW RELEASE 04/18/06
Collective Efforts has been posted up at the Mansion on Briarcliff, finishing the new album “Medicine” for its April release, and polishing up the “Until My Life is Gone” 12-inch single, due out in March. In the words of Muhammad Ali, CE is “so bad they make medicine sick.” Real sick. Upon receiving advance copies of “Medicine,” our radio promoter called us at home (after hours, no less) to flip her damn lid over how ill this record is. True Story. Other than that, the CE crew has been staying on their game: MC J-mil and his hetero life-mate DJ Variable are getting ready to start their college lecture-circuit tour, entitled, “Two Guys Who Know Everything Tell You How To Do Your Job.” In between beat-making epiphanies, Ben Hameen emerges from the lab only long enough to sign autographs, eat the occasional spartan meal and call his girlfriend; DJ Creashun and his probation officer have never been closer; and guru Bambu de Almanatic sits in Lotus position at the Mansion channeling stock tips, meteorological data and dope beats from the spirit of Barry White.
A spring tour in support of “Medicine” is in the works.
WELCOME THE IDDOUBLE:
Y’all kids need to quit frontin’ and welcome Intellekt & Dirty Digits to the ATL fam. Better to do it now and get in on the ground floor before the newest ArcTheFinger wunderkinds are your landlords, ‘cause they ‘bout to own Atlanta. The “Phenom Mental” 12-inch is due out in April with the Intellektual Property album due out in May 2006!
MINAMINA DO-DO-DO-DO-DO:
Minamina Goodsong is dead. No, not really, but they’ve gone back into hiding for a minute after ripping ish with Glue and Alpha Noise Project at the Drunken Unicorn earlier this month. DJ Scizzahandz stepped up to the plate to fill a void and Pgnut’s prowess on the MPC as well as on the M-I-C remains unchallenged. In between conference calls with the Most High, AD continues to rack up nosebleed level long distance bills phoning a mysterious Panamanian beauty who appears to be a real person (as opposed to his last girlfriend who lived “somewhere in the Niagara Falls area.”) Could this be the future Mrs. Adahma AD? Keep it here, True Believers.

ATF IN THE SUNDAY PAPER:
Wheaties, Grapefruit and the ArcTheFinger Family Circus! Good news on your doorstep - This Sunday, a million metro-AT households will be invaded by ATF’s message of positive dopeness! Much love to Nick Marino and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution…be sure to pick up the Sunday edition (2/26) this week for ArcTheFinger’s feature article in the Arts & Books Section.
FROM THE DESK OF THE DYNAMIC DERELICT:
We met D. McNice and his staff of alter egos whilst doing (court-ordered) community service at a local soup kitchen. Penniless and relying on the Atlanta Public Library system for internet access, McNice (aka “Defacer McNasty” aka “The Dynamic Derelict”) has spent the last three years on the local grind, spending as much time at Lenny’s as he has at Fulton County Jail. The kids seem to love this guy, and the CO staff has interviewed some of the finest national indie Hip-hop artists, including POS, Slug of Atmosphere, Sage Francis, DiVinci of Sol.illaquists of Sound, Pigeon John and MF DOOM’s DJ Kool Akeim. Interviews with Asamov, The Perceptionists, DJ Lord of Public Enemy, and others are on deck for upcoming months, so don’t sleep! Constantlyon.com is also your source for all the nitty-gritty on the upcoming A3C Independent Hip-hop Festival and other indie/underground Hip-hop events in Atlanta.
ATF PROMOTIONS:
In 2005, ATF launched our promotions division, bringing you the Rhymesayers “Pour Me Another” tour, Sage Francis’ “Knowmore.org” tour, the ill-fated and dissapointing Cage “Hell’s Winter” tour. 2006 saw the first of the “Dynamic Derelict” series, featuring Glue, Minamina Goodsong and Alpha Noise Project. In the wake of the 2006 A3C festival, on Thursday April 6th, ArcTheFinger and Live Nation present none other than GHOSTFACE KILLAH on the Atlanta stop of the “Fishscale” Tour. The tour also features Sam Scarfo and M1 of Dead Prez. Stay tuned to www.constantlyon.com for details and ticket info!
