KISSIMMEE, FL - World Extreme Fighting (WEF) will premiere live at the Silver Spurs Arena at Osceola Heritage Park on January 13, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. The WEF, in association with Red Barron Ent. and Reality Sports LLC, presents 10 bouts of "No Holds Barred" mixed martial arts action with championship fighters from around the world. Tickets go on sale Friday, December 22, 2006 at 5:00 p.m.
Extreme Fighting has been called the fastest growing sport in the world and gained mainstream popularity in the US over the last few years. This event is the first in a series of three WEF events scheduled to be held at the Silver Spurs Arena over the next 9 months. Future dates and times to be determined.
Fighters participating in this event include Naples' own Crafton Wallace, considered one of the best of fighters out of the Chuck Norris' World Combat League, WEF World Champion and UFC veteran.
In a lightweight bout, Brazilian Super star Diego Saraiva from Fortaleza, Brazil, is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt and considered to have one of the best ground games in the world.
Lightweight Danny Abaddi, 3 time UFC, WEF veteran, Spike TV reality star finally gets to fight in front of his home town.
Biloxi, Mississippi's Chad Jay returns to the WEF after stopping German, Muay Thai expert, Gordon Feibig in his last showing.
Boxing legend Manny Reyes Jr., from Miami makes his WEF debut against Las Vegas own J. R. Sims who has one up on the Boxer.
A few more Florida base fighters will make their appearance, Mike Stoker, Raunier Mendiluza, and Andres Soto.
The WEF was founded in 1997 by its President, ex-champion fighter and award winning instructor, Jamie Levine. An inductee in The World Martial Arts Hall of Fame and a Pan American Silver medalist, he has participated in every aspect of the sport since 1993. In 1999 Jaime was responsible for the first Pay-Per-View event in Brazil and is often credited as the best matchmaker in the sport today. Through the WEF, Jamie has trained world champions and groomed over thirty of the top fighters currently competing for organizations such as "UFC" and "Pride."
The WEF's international appeal stems from their commitment to match the best fighters from around the world, many champions in their regional fighting styles. This commitment to competition will continue in the Las Vegas Series, and events scheduled in the US and abroad.
