"Undercover History: Hunt for Hitler” (wt)

Tuesday, January 9 at 10:00 PM ET/PT (World Premiere)

With shells crashing around his bunker and planes droning overhead, Adolf Hitler faced the reality of defeat and took his life.  But then his body disappeared mysteriously. Only later did we learn that Soviet leader Joseph Stalin concealed his body from the West for decades.  The FBI spent years tracking false leads and sightings of Hitler, compiling a file more than 700 pages thick on his whereabouts.  Only in the 1990s did Russia open its archives to reveal a handful of Hitler’s teeth and fractured skull pieces.  Join the National Geographic Channel as Hunt for Hitler uses forensic science and insight from interviews with leading historians and eyewitnesses to explore what happened to Hitler and the reasons behind the Soviet’s deception, which included reburying his remains 8 times before unceremoniously disposing of his ashes in a river.

Meanwhile, investigators from the U.S. Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board (CSB), begin their analysis. Was the cause of this disaster terrorism or a series of human errors that set in motion a deadly chain of events? Seconds from Disaster unravels the mystery behind the biggest United States chemical accident in the past 20 years.

Fondue recently failed a doggy day care entrance exam and now the couple has no one to watch him while they are away. Can Fondue become a straight “A" student with Cesar’s help?  Next, meet Shelby and her three Jack Russell terriers; Chip, Hope and JoyJoy. Each dog helped her get over a break-up, but now the three together are fighting each other for her attention.  Can Cesar trump their trio of terror? And finally meet Elmer, a beagle that howls every time another dog approaches.  Can Cesar bring Elmer's howling to a screeching halt? For more information, visit ngcdogwhisperer.com.

Yet without it we would perish for it holds the key to our existence on this planet. Thousands of miles below the surface, the earth's core generates a protective magnetic shield around the planet. Now, scientists have uncovered evidence that this armor could be fading. Are weak spots in the earth’s shield a sign that our planet’s magnetic poles are on the verge of flipping?  Naked Science challenges our traditional geological models and takes you deep to the center of earth.
