Black Stone Cherry Debuts At #90 On The Top 200 Albums Chart Upcoming Tours With Three Days Grace, Staind And Black Label Society

New York, NY - Up-and-coming Southern Rock saviors Black Stone Cherry (BSC) impacted the Top 200 Albums Chart at #90 with their self-titled debut album. Moving over 10,000 units its first week out, Black Stone Cherry bested the first week numbers of current big-selling acts like Hinder, Flyleaf, The Fray and more. The album, featuring the hit single "Lonely Train," has risen to #12 on the Top Hard Rock Albums Chart and continues to
climb. Additionally, the single continues its surge to the top of
the Active Rock chart, jumping two spots to #14. Once the tour
with Buckcherry ends on August 15th, the band will set out for a week of dates with Three Days Grace and then on a month long tour with Staind starting September 8, 2006. BSC will wrap up the year as direct and sole support to Black Label Society on their headlining U.S. tour that kicks off in on October 19, 2006.

Additionally, "Lonely Train" was the theme song to the WWE's widely popular Pay Per View "Great American Bash, " which aired July 23rd. Encore presentations and highlight clips featuring the song will run through the end of August 2006.

"Rock hasn't felt this good in years," proclaimed the Louisiana Daily Advertiser. Formed by four small-town Kentucky guys who are barely 21 years old, Black Stone Cherry is redefining
honest, Southern Hard Rock with commanding riffs,
soul-searing vocals, John Bonahm-esque drumming and full-throttle melodies. The album features 13 anthemic Rock
songs that deal with, among other topics, smuggling moonshine ("Backwoods Gold"), friends heading to war ("Lonely Train"), and a mysterious wiseman that brings rain to drought stricken areas ("Rain Wizard").

Chris Robertson (guitars/lead vocals), Ben Wells (guitars/backing vocals), Jon Lawhon (bass/backing vocals) and John Fred Young (drums/backing vocals) are lifelong friends from Edmonton, Kentucky. Growing up in the middle of a dry county, 2 hours from the nearest city, they were heavily influenced by a spectrum of bands including the often ignored and underrated supergroup Cactus, Black Sabbath, Soundgarden and Lynryd Skynryd, all of which they have drawn upon to formulate their own unparalleled sound. BSC are signed to Roadrunner Records through a joint venture with In De Goot Recordings, an offshoot of the management firm run by rock music industry veteran Bill McGathy that represents
Shinedown, Theory of a Deadman, Chevelle, Puddle of Mudd
and others.
