BankAtlantic Center In Sunrise, FL Announces October 7, 2006 Dixie Chicks Concert Cancelled Show To Be Replaced
By Gigantour Featuring Megadeth And Many Others

SUNRISE, Fla. - Sunrise Sports & Entertainment announced today that the Dixie Chicks concert originally scheduled for October 7, 2006 at the BankAtlantic Center, has been officially cancelled by the tour. Fans holding tickets for this event can go through their point of purchase for more information.

Dixie Chicks promoter AEG Live released an official statement saying, "AEG Live rerouted some of the Dixie Chicks late summer U.S. concerts into the fall months to both accommodate demand as well as to allow the group some promotion time in September around the debut of the documentary film "Dixie Chicks" Shut Up and Sing" which was just accepted by the Toronto International Film Festival."

The Dixie Chicks also released a statement saying, "We hope that our fans who were looking forward to a stop that is no longer on the tour will be able to join us at a nearby arena this fall, and we are sorry for any confusion or inconvenience these changes have caused."

In its place, the BankAtlantic Center recently announced that Gigantour - one of 2006's largest rock music festivals - is coming to the BankAtlantic Center on October 7, 2006 at 5 p.m. Gigantour will feature superstar band Megadeth with Lamb of God, Opeth, Arch Enemy, Overkill, Into Eternity, Sanctity and The Smashup.

"Gigantour is one of the biggest and most popular tours of 2006," SSE director of event programming Sid Greenfeig said. "It debuted last year to huge crowds and incredible reviews from big-time music publications. With an even better line-up this year, I expect this event to draw a capacity crowd at the BankAtlantic Center."

Tickets are available t all Ticketmaster outlets, charge by phone (954-523-3309 in Broward County, 305-358-5885 in Dade County and 561-966-3309 in Palm Beach County), at ticketmaster.com and the BankAtlantic Center box office.
