Shakatak Live At The Playhouse Available On DVD Through MVD On June 6, 2006

MVD and Secret Films are pleased to announce the home viewing release of SHAKATAK - Live at the Playhouse for North American distribution on DVD.

This 18-song performance was filmed and recorded at the Playhouse Theatre in Epsom, UK on May 28th 2003. It's presented here in Digital 5.1 Surround Sound and features an exclusive interview with the band.

Shakatak's sound is as cool, sophisticated and uplifting as a sparkling cocktail. They were the leading lights of the British jazz-funk scene in the eighties. The band maintains a cult status with their catchy and relaxed music. They play an elegant, sophisticated and unashamedly laid-back type of jazz-funk similar to that made popular by American bands like Spyro Gyra, the famous Brecker Brothers and occasionally the Crusaders.
