Supagroup Bounces Back Even Katrina Can't Stop Them From Tour Dates With Alice Cooper!

New Orleans, LA - Displaced from the destruction and devastation by Hurricane Katrina of their beloved hometown of New Orleans, Foodchain recording artists SUPAGROUP aren't letting the disaster prevent them from doing what they do best... and that's play their ass-kickin' hard rock. So this Fall, the boys are gonna grab their instruments and get back out on the road... and who better to help them serve it up, but the legendary Alice Cooper (confirmed tour dates below).

"We keep getting reports about New Orleans that give us more and more encouragement," said lead singer/rhythm guitarist Chris Lee. "People are saying that things aren't quite as bad as they look on TV. The New Orleans community is banding together to put things right ASAP, and they're even talking about 2006's Mardi Gras! Glad to know we've got our priorities straight. And for all those that are
talking about not rebuilding... Well, they can kiss my skinnny ass!"

Armed with a battery of songs and an endless well of perseverance, SUPAGROUP have been busting their way through the music industry in every way possible. From their critically-hailed albums, including this year's Rules ("“Their new album Rules, well, f*cking rules!” - Village Voice), to their phenomenally energetic and fun live shows ("New Orleans’ Supagroup lays waste to clubs as if they were colisseums." - Austin Chronicle), these rockers know how to bring their vice-filled party attitude in full-force. Even winning over overweight and aging fans sporting mulletts and track suits from their recent tour with Whitesnake, Supagroup have a certain charisma that transcends body fat... spritely young things in tight tank tops belting the single "It Takes Balls" along with their portly moms in rippled spandex bottoms. Quite a scene... quite an image.

This tour will mark their second trek with Alice Cooper who had once proclaimed, "These boys are the first band I've had open for me since Guns N' Roses to get a standing ovation every night. It takes charisma to make it in rock and roll, and these kids have it in spades."

Rules, their second album for Foodchain Records, was released this Spring to resounding applause." With praise from Time Out New York ("[Rules is] the perfect soundtrack for all your ass-slappin', vice-fueled needs") and Penthouse ("Finally here is some real rawk! Five stars"), the album is packed with rowdy, raucous bitchin' rock, all led by guitar powerhouse Benji Lee and brother Chris’ vocals, and pumped up by bassist Leif Robinson Swift and drummer Michael Brueggen. From their rallying cry "Ready to Go" to the adrenaline-soaked "Let's Go (Get Wasted)" to the AC/DC-on-steroids anthemic lead single "It Takes Balls", Rules rocks in all the right places and rumbles in all the others. The album was produced, recorded and mixed by Kevin "Caveman" Shirley (Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith). Adds Chris, "For anyone that needs a healthy dose of Refugee Rock, we're ready to administer it!"

“Packed to the brim with rowdy ready-made clamor, Rules’ relentlessly roaring onslaught takes no prisoners...
If you don’t believe Supagroup made one of the greatest party records ever, you can “lick my balls.” - Aquarian Weekly"

If cheese metal champion the Darkness is the modern day equivalent of Queen or Slade, then New Orleans Supagroup may just be Bon Scott era AC/DC reincarnated. It's pure joy for fans of big chords and Marshall-stack-powered, devil-horn-worthy RAWK!" -- Billboard“...

a shaking, stirring cocktail with a real rocket-queen kick.” - Rolling StoneSupagroup celebrates everything your parents dread on Rules, a classic rock-'n'-roll orgy in the AC/DC,
Aerosmith, Van Halen, Led Zep mold. Dirty, doofus fun, done well. A-minus” - Knight-Ridder“...

an amorous tribute to everything guys like Angus Young, Chuck Berry, and Eddie Van Halen stood for - smokin’ riffs, screaming solos, and the hell-bent fury of the best classic rock.” -Guitar One.
