Portland Hip-Hop Trio Lifesavas Embard On A Co-Headling Tour With The Coup Tour Starts Monday September 26, 2005 in Seattle

Straight outta Portland, Quannum Projects recording artist Lifesavas are hitting the road this fall for the first time in 2005. The trio is emerging from a long stint in the studio, working over the past two years on the much-anticipated follow-up to 2002's Spirit in Stone. Known as one of the first contemporary signees to the artist-owned collective/label Quannum Projects, Spirit in Stone stunned critics and fans alike with a style that was at once traditionalist and modern. MCs Vursatyl and Jumbo rapped (and in Vursatyl's case, sang) over beats provided by Jumbo himself, as well as Rev. Shines and Blackalicious' Chief Xcel, who as a partner brought Lifesavas into the Quannum fold. In the interim, both Jumbo and Vursatyl have made countless guest appearances (To much acclaim, Jumbo produced the heralded debut album from fellow PDX resident Libretto, for example), in addition to crisscrossing the globe on tour. Their new record, slated for early 2006, promises to be a star-studded affair, with collaborations from hip-hop and beyond. Look for them to be debuting plenty of new tracks on this tour, which is a co-headline gig with Bay Area's The Coup.
