"Mississippi Girl" Is Here -- Faith Hill Returns With First Single in Nearly 2 Years
Radio Websites Offer Free, Timed-Out Download to Coincide With Release; Delivery to Radio Due on Tuesday, May 10th
NASHVILLE, TN - (MARKET WIRE) - 05/05/2005 - One of the world's top vocalists will return to the radio airwaves next week with her powerful new single, aptly titled "Mississippi Girl." Recorded for her upcoming, sixth studio release, entitled "Fireflies," Faith's "Mississippi Girl" combines an infectious groove with a simple yet direct autobiographical lyric.
"Music is, and always should be, about evoking an emotion or expressing a passion or feeling," said Faith, "and this song does just that for me. It's easier for me to express what's in my heart by telling people to listen to what I sing, rather than to what I say. I hope my fans enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoy singing it."
To coincide with the release, radio stations across the country will invite fans to go to their respective websites beginning on Tuesday, May 10th, to download a free, timed-out version of "Mississippi Girl." Radio stations are expected to begin airing snippets of the new song this week, and the download will be available through May 23rd. As of May 24th, fans are invited to go to any digital music retailer to purchase the track.
