Matt Nathanson to Open for Tori Amos this Spring on her Highly Anticipated Original Sinsuality Solo Piano Tour
New York, NY – Matt Nathanson is slated to open for Tori Amos this Spring on her highly anticipated Original Sinsuality Solo Piano Tour of the US in support of her new CD The Beekeeper. This month long theatre trek will kick off on April 1st in Clearwater, FL at the Ruth Eckard Hall and will finish on April 25th at the Royce Hall Auditorium in Los Angeles, CA. Matt is currently on the road opening for G. Love & Special Sauce and in addition to the Tori shows, he will be doing some select headlining college performances on off dates. Matt continues to tour in support of Beneath These Fireworks, his Universal Records debut and sixth release to date.
While this tour marks Amos’ first in three years (she traveled across the nation in support of the acclaimed Scarlet’s Walk in 2002), it finds Matt continuing his typically manic touring schedule. Over the last two years, he’s played more than 275 shows and shared the stage with a number of amazing, now burgeoning artists; including John Mayer, Train, Maroon 5, Howie Day, Jason Mraz, and Gavin DeGraw.
In addition to Beneath These Fireworks, this past fall Matt joined a long list of remarkable artists with his contributions to two noteworthy CD releases – Wake Up Everybody (Bungalow Records) and For The Kids Too! (Nettwerk). For Wake Up Everybody Matt recorded a cover of the Cat Stevens classic “The Wind” and joined a diverse lineup including Babyface, Mary J. Blige, Ashanti, Lenny Kravitz, The Roots, Jurassic 5, Yoko Ono and Jadakiss. For For The Kids Too! Matt recorded a cover of Prince’s whimsical hit “Starfish & Coffee” and joined the list of highly accomplished artists who also contributed including Jason Mraz, Robyn Hitchcock, Matthew Sweet, Nada Surf and Ron Sexsmith. Since the end of last year, Matt has been home in San Francisco working on material for a new CD.
