Songwriters Showcases Of American Begins New Program Songs For Charity To Raise Funds
The Songwriters Showcases of America has begun a new program called Songs For
Charity to help raise funds for
non profit organizations. The first song
being used for
the campaign during the month of July is called
"Celebrating
Independence" to help raise funds for
Wounded Warriors Hospital Fund in honor of
Independence Day.
Wounded Warriors is a non profit organization that operates in
Iraq and financially assist service men and women who are hospitalized from
injuries that occurred in the line of
duty. The song "Celebrating Independence"
is being promoted around the world by email, websites, radio and at many
community festivities to help raise money for the cause. As part of the campaign
you can listen and download the song for free by going to the SSA's website at
ssa.cc. SSA's President, Phil Weidner hopes that through the
Songs For
Charity program many Americans can show their support for US military personnel
and can make a donation to Wounded Warriors.
The donations that are collected goes directly to aid military personnel who have been hospitalized in the line of duty. John Folsom, president of Wounded Warriors is a Colonel
in the USMCR and is currently stationed in Irag. He along with a small volunteer staff work hand in hand with the hospitals in Iraq, Afghanistan, Germany, and the US.
