KASABIAN KICK-STARTS 2005 : Kasabian are kicking off 2005 with lots of excitement both overseas and here in the States.

In the UK : Besides their three Brit Award nominations (British Group, British Rock Act and British Live Act), the group's self-titled debut is now certified platinum in the UK (300,000 copies).  Armed with their just-released fifth single “Cutt Off”, marking the highest-ever singles chart debut at #8, Kasabian are set to headline a series of European dates at the end of this month before heading overseas to the US.

In the US :  In addition to strong early support from radio-the single “Club Foot” is already #37 on the modern rock chart in its first week-Kasabian are also attracting the attention of the press.  The San Francisco Chronicle , citing a “jaw-dropping debut”, named them one of their Critic's Choices for 2005.  Meanwhile, Kasabian were also singled out in the Los Angeles Times ' annual recommendation of five British acts to watch in the new year: “Leader Tom Meighan embodies goodtime rock 'n' roll spirit.  They love to play, and they have that passion for America.  Watch out for beats-and-guitars guerrilla-gigging on their long tours in February and (probably) May.”

The band will head out with The Music beginning February 17 in NYC and will wind down at this year's SXSW music festival on March 18.  Also, look for Kasabian to make their US television debut with a performance of “Club Foot” on Jimmy Kimmel Live on March 10.  Confirmed Kasabian tour dates are as follows:
