XM Production/Effanel Music's John Harris Honored With Two Grammy® Awards

WASHINGTON, Feb. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - XM Satellite Radio, the nation's leading satellite radio provider with more than 3.2 million subscribers, and Effanel Music, the production division of XM Satellite Radio, are celebrating the two GRAMMY® Awards received by XM's Lead Mixer John Harris for his contributions to Ray Charles' final album, "Genius Loves Company," during the 47th Annual GRAMMY® Awards, presented on Sunday, February 13.

Harris shared the award for "Album of The Year," which recognized the artists, producers, recording engineers/mixers and mastering engineers for their work on "Genius Loves Company." Additionally, Harris' efforts were awarded, along with the rest of the engineering team, with the GRAMMY® for "Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical."

"On behalf of everyone here at XM, I would like to congratulate John for his contributions to this critically-acclaimed album and his recognition from the Recording Academy," said Eric Logan, executive vice president of programming for XM Satellite Radio. "John Harris and the rest of the XM Productions team at Effanel Music are key elements that ensure the remote broadcasts, mobile recordings and live music performances heard on XM sound amazing."

John Harris, an 18-year veteran with Effanel Music, currently serves as lead music mixer for XM Productions. Known for his incredible skill at remixing -- a rarity in remote recording -- Harris' endless list of credits include classic MTV "Unplugged" segments, numerous VH1 "Storytellers" and the A&E "Live By Request" series. Harris has worked with dozens of notable performers, including Paul Simon, Garth Brooks, Sheryl Crow and Dave Matthews. Additionally, for the past several years Harris has served as lead music mixer for the annual GRAMMYS® Award show, for which he won an Emmy® in 2003.
