Boston's The Click Five Signs With Lava Records - Power-Pop Band Lands Coveted Opening Slot On Ashlee Simpson U.S. Tour

Band To Release Debut Album "Greetings From Imrie House" Summer 2005

NEW YORK, NY- February 3, 2005 - In the surprise coup of the year, up and coming power pop band The Click Five landed a plum opening slot on the highly anticipated Ashlee Simpson North American tour beginning February 16 in Anaheim, CA. The tour comes on the heels of the band's major label signing with Lava Records, a division of the Warner Music Group, and home to such artists as Kid Rock, Simple Plan, Unwritten Law, and Uncle Kracker.

The band joined forces at Boston's prestigious Berklee College of Music a little over a year ago, and has already amassed quite a story. Their sound is on par with crafty rockers Cheap Trick and Athens alumni Matthew Sweet.

The Click Five have already played their hearts out to many a sold-out Boston crowd. As the Boston Metro put it "Hand clapping mandatory; squealing optional." The quintet has graced concert bills with Alanis Morisette, Barenaked Ladies, and the indubitable Rod Stewart. They made an instant fan of ultimate bad boy Paul Stanley when he showed up at one of their many sold-out Boston shows. The band even broke out a KISS salute to him, covering "Detroit Rock City."

Currently, the five talented musicians are putting the finishing touches on their upcoming major label debut, Greetings From Imrie House, due in August of 2005. The album title pays homage to the bands' house on Imrie Street in Boston where they lived while writing the album. All songs on the album, produced by Mike Denneen (Fountains Of Wayne, Aimee Mann, and Howie Day), were written and performed by The Click Five, with the exception of "Just The Girl" and "I'll Take My Chances." Both tunes were written by Fountains Of Wayne frontman Adam Schlesinger and the ultra-catchy "Just The Girl" recently held fast on Boston's KISS 108 nightly countdown, making it all the way to #4. The Click Five also collaborated with Paul Stanley on the upbeat tune "Angel To You (Devil To Me)." In addition, Elliot Easton of The Cars fame laid down the lead guitar solo on a few tunes as well.

The Click Five is Eric Dill on lead vocals, Joe Guese on lead guitar, Ethan Mentzer on bass, Ben Romans on keyboards, and Joey Zehr on drums.
