Rod Stewart Wins His First Grammy For Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album For 'Stardust ... The Great American Songbook: Vol III'

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 14 /PRNewswire/ - It was announced last night from a ceremony in Los Angeles that Rod Stewart has won a Grammy for "Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album" for his album "Stardust ... The Great American Songbook: Volume III (J Records)."

This is the first Grammy win for this legendary rock & roll icon. Stewart has received 14 nominations in his career, and this was his third consecutive nomination in this category for the Songbook series (following the multi- platinum releases "As Time Goes By ... The Great American Songbook, Volume II" last year, and the original "It Had To Be You ... The Great American Songbook" the year before).

Commented Stewart on his win prior to taking the stage at his sold out performance in Brisbane, Australia: "After all these years I was quite liking not winning, but somehow I'll learn to live with it. In fact, I intend to take it with me everywhere."

"Stardust ... The Great American Songbook: Volume III" entered the Billboard 200 Album chart at #1 this fall.
