Last Conservative Win XM Radio Award On The Brink: Best Unsigned Artist Category

Buffalo, NY – Last Conservative have yet another feather to put in their cap. Winning the On the Brink: Best Unsigned Artist category for XM Satellite Radio’s 1st Annual 2005 XM Nation Awards, Last Conservative drew over 50% of the votes (Something for Rockets and Margot & the Nuclear So & So’s split the 48% of the votes that remained). “XM has been amazing to Last Conservative and it's a huge honor to be picked for a national award such as this,” said guitarist David Julian. "They are definitely responsible for widening the band's fan base. They really have the pulse on broadcast music and have really been successful with what they are trying to accomplish with radio.”

Last Conservative were were nominated by XM’s programming staff for their category, as they did with Best Pop Singalong Song (winner: Kelly Clarkson’s “Since U Been Gone”) and Most Important Emerging Indie Artist (winner: M.I.A.), and satellite radio listeners voted for their picks. “Being on XM has been super-cool for us,” added vocalist/guitarist TJ Zindle. “We normally get emails from kids all over the country who have heard us on XM Radio and it’s amazing. Winning this award is really means so much to us. We're just a really hard working band that creates honest music and we put on a great live show.”

XM Radio describes the band best when the award was presented: “With the energy and depth of much more seasoned bands, the true and raw emotion to satisfy the biggest critic, and simply awesome hooks and vocals, the XM Nation votes [Last Conservative] won't be unsigned for long.” The band can be currently heard on XM Satellite Radio Channel 43 “XMU: What’s Next Now.”

Last Conservative is currently in Buffalo’s legendary Trackmaster Studios recording the follow-up to their critically-acclaimed debut On to the Next One, which is due on indie label Good Charamel in Spring 2006. Goo Goo Dolls bassist Robby Takac is producing.
