Désolé Set For Release Of Debut On Abacus Recordings
A Story To Tell Out On February 7, 2006 Band Announces Track Listing

Hailing from Phoenix, Arizona, Abacus recording artists DÉSOLÉ (pronounced "day-so-lay") are gearing up for the release of their debut A Story to Tell on February 7, 2006. “It’s our first national release but it is nothing short of a record for us to be proud of,” said vocalist Lance. “2006 is a big year for our label and all of us in the band. We have been pushing each other to really give this our 100%.”

Produced by Corry Spotts (The Format, Greeley Estates), A Story to Tell is a healthy slice of indie rock, loaded with huge melodies and hooks from the explosive opening track "Personal" to energetically epic "Familiar Pills" to the head-bobbing infectiousness of the first single,“Gossip." Atmospheric and layered, yet immediate and infectious, this debut is a perfect introduction to what New Times describes as "multifaceted, radio-ready brand of proto-indie rock."

Formed in the arid state of Arizona, the six guys from Désolé plugged away, creating their unique sound that made an impact on the local scene. "Within the last year, our friends in the Greeley Estates, Scary Kids Scaring Kids, A Change of Pace, Goodbye Tomorrow, Versus the Mirror have all been signed just like us," explains Lance. "All of the bands, I think, have played an influence on one another and it seems like we have all grown together."
"The name Désolé, which means 'desolate' in French, came from a song that we wrote in a previous band," he continues. "We chose it because it doesn't have a built-in connotation, so people wouldn't have an opinion of what we sounded like before they heard our music." Appropriately enough, their music doesn't fit into any already-defined genres or formats, and that's the way they prefer it. "We hope this record is one of those records that people pick up and tell their friends about."

Looking forward to 2006 and what's in store for the band, Lance beams, "We're really excited for the album to come out. Plus," he adds cheekily, "our A&R guy is really cute!"
