Avril LaVigne Launches Summer Amphitheatre Tour "Fall To Pieces" Goes To Top 40 April 18 "Under My Skin" Tops 7 Million Worldwide

Spring’s just begun, but AVRIL LAVIGNE already has her eye on summer. Currently criss-crossing the globe in support of her seven-million-plus selling Under My Skin, Avril has already confirmed plans to launch a headlining North American amphitheatre tour on July 13 in London, ONT. This eight-week trek--featuring special guests Gavin DeGraw and Butch Walker among others--will wrap September 3 in Montreal, QUE.

In much the same spirit in which Avril approached her last tour of the States (October and November of 2004), she will be treating fans to special renditions of both the newer material on Under My Skin as well as the hits off her mega-platinum debut Let Go. She’ll likely be making an appearance behind the drum set and the piano, as well as performing several songs acoustically, as part of her set.

Avril’s confidence as a musician and performing artist were noted by multiple critics on the last tour. While the Boston Herald praised her “conviction and bravura” onstage, the Chicago Tribune said she “was more demonstrative in not just singing to the audience but engaging it…her voice and sincerity can’t be denied.” The Philadelphia Inquirer went on to add: “A couple of songs from her sophomore album, Under My Skin, took on new life live. The hooks of ‘My Happy Ending’ were particularly grabby, and the cautionary tale ‘Nobody’s Home’ packed more weight stripped down to a solo acoustic arrangement.”

In other news, “Fall To Pieces”-the fourth single off Under My Skin-is set to impact Top 40 radio on April 18. The track follows her #1 smash “My Happy Ending”, “Don’t Tell Me” (Top 10) and “Nobody’s Home” (Top 15). A video for “Fall To Pieces” will be shot at the end of April.

For those fans who can’t make it out to one of the tour stops, Avril will be performing on The Tonight Show August 12 and as part of Good Morning America’s summer concert series on August 26.
