Already building a buzz in Los Angeles, Aruna's style of melodic modern pop/rock is smart, sensitive and self-aware with a feisty, rebellious aftertaste. Her music has been breaking out of music realm and has appeared in other media worlds. "Walk on Water" was featured in the film and soundtrack Eulogy starring Ray Romano and Kelly Preston. “Saving Grace” was featured in the new MTV reality series “Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County” in October 2004 and “Saving Grace” and “The Other Side” are also included on MTV’s “Laguna Beach: The Complete First Season” DVD. Her first single, the melodically stunning "Break You Open" won First Prize in the Pop Category of the 2004 USA Songwriting Competition. Packed with these songs as well as the heartbreakingly yearning "Good Enough", the meandering "Red Lights", and the piano-led "Not Your Mommy", Aruna propels these songs with both the power of a live band and the gritty sonic realism of loops and samples. "It's the merging point where nature meets technology; organic instruments, broken down and natural, against a backdrop of machines, "she describes.

Originally hailing from Flemington, New Jersey, Aruna's serpentine route through the entertainment world to the present included jazz piano and film scoring studies at Boston's Berklee College of Music, a short jaunt through Miami where she joined Roadrunner recording artists Cynic, and then to Los Angeles where she has remained. Now with her debut Running Red Lights primed for release on April 19th, she's gearing up for her time to shine. Her strikingly moving live performances complement her textured and personal album perfectly, bringing together a mesmerizing soundtrack that mirrors the complexity of modern humanity in a voice that echoes the tone of the truth.
