Wynonna's
Hit Remix - "I
Want To Know What Love Is" - Hightest New Entry On Billboard's
Dance Radio Chart
New York, NY – November
23, 2004 – Five
time Grammy award winner Wynonna entered Billboard’s
Dance Radio Chart at #16 with the remix of “I Want to Know What Love Is,” the
highest new entry on the chart for the week.
Mixed by Piper (aka Ron Slomowicz, Tommy Dorsey and
Lenny Bertoldo), the track is already a hit in American dance
clubs and internationally having reached #35 on the Netherlands’ Top and having
found its way onto the playlist as one of the most requested
songs on the nation's largest dance station, New York’s WKTU. As Billboard aptly wrote, “Country singer
Wynonna is not particularly a known commodity in the dance
community. But that is likely to change with the potent Piper
remixes of the artist's cover of Foreigner's 1984 No. 1 pop
hit, " ‘I Want to Know What Love Is.’ ”
"The success of this track rocks
my world. The Piper team did an amazing job transforming my
version of Foreigner’s song into a great dance mix. I'm
really thankful to dance radio for being so accepting of the
track and helping it find its way to a whole new audience,” enthuses
Wynonna.
The
track was remixed from Wynonna’s
recent album, What The
World Needs Now Is Love (Curb), which
debuted at #1 on the Billboard Country Albums Chart and comes
on the heels of her highly acclaimed nationwide tour, Her Story: Scenes from a Lifetime. Due
to the success of the remix, Curb has added the track to the
existing album, which is available now in stores across the
country.
Wynonna is currently celebrating her 20th year
in the music industry and this exciting entry into the dance
world will only further establish her wide-ranging appeal.
