A18 Tour In Support
Of New Album 'Dear Furious' Tour Starts on November 19, 2004.
Chicago, IL - November 18, 2004 - Six years is well
beyond the average life expectancy of most hardcore bands, especially
when you tally two full length CDs, three EPs, shows in over
twenty different countries, literally hundreds of interviews
and a live set that often leaves the stage decorated with blood
and broken instruments. Welcome A18. With a resume reading like
a who’s
who of Southern California hardcore, A18 formed from the ashes
of the region’s most popular hardcore bands, A Chorus of
Disapproval, Instead, Outspoken and Strife. After a brief hiatus
A18 are happy to announce the return of longtime vocalist Isaac
Golub.
Co-produced by Paul Miner (Throwdown,
Terror, Atreyu) Dear Furious is
a mix of passion, anger, energy and unbridled rage that assaults
the senses. After recording Foreverafternothing with Paul in 2002,
A18 chose to bring his great studio knowledge and experience producing
some of the greatest hardcore bands to bear on the new project.
During the year prior, the band had issued themselves a challenge
to surpass all previous recordings. Their tour schedule provided
the live performance time needed, that combined with two months
of pre-production, their hard work paid off. “We've had the
time to really hone our songs into the quintessential A18 anthems,
instead of sacrificing quality for a lack of time or recording
budget,” Mike commented. A18 entered the studio after the
last leg of their most recent tour of Europe with The
Hope Conspiracy and Darkest
Hour.
Those who heard Foreverafternothing know that the album was filled
with dark overtones. Dear Furious takes the themes of A18 to a
whole new level. Lyrically the album is very personal, with songs
that are anthems of hope, as well as gut-wrenching promises to
deliver you to agony.
Also present throughout the album are references
to dedication and perseverance to the straightedge lifestyle A18
is committed to. On “Beating a Dead
Horse,” an ode
to hardcore and dedication, A18 are joined by Scott
Vogel of Terror,
bringing even more intensity to their already volatile mix.
Critical kudos, non-stop touring and support from Fuse and MTV2
helped bring A18 out of the hardcore underground and to the attention
of hard music fans everywhere. Dear Furious carries the precedent
of Foreverafternothing forward with this album; it will be hailed
by longtime fans and newer listeners alike.
Outburn Magazine describes
A18 as “One of the most pissed-off aggressive bands in hard
core… grinding metal grooves, hardcore blasts, and emotional
vocals with chant along choruses are topped off with an abundance
of angst from start to finish on Dear Furious.”
The band recently shot a new music video for “Heartbreak
Affiliated” – look for it on video shows this fall.
