Trick Pony Confirmed as Newest Addition to the Curb-Asylum Label
NASHVILLE, Tenn., May 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - Curb Records Chairman Mike Curb today put the rumors to rest regarding Trick Pony when he confirmed their signing to his Curb-Asylum Records label. "I couldn't be happier about the addition of Trick Pony to our roster, their unbelievable talent and energy is inspiring!"
Sr. VP/General Manager of Curb, Dennis Hannon, agrees, "The synergy of these three brilliant musicians is amazing and their music is contagious."
Trick Pony is no stranger to critical acclaim and praise. In 2002 they received an American Music Award for Favorite New Country Artist and an Academy of Country Music Award for Top New Vocal/Duo/Group. In 2003 they received five more Academy of Country Music Award nominations as well as a Grammy and CMT Flame Worthy Music Video Award nomination. They are currently in the running for another Academy of Country Music trophy for "Top Vocal Group."
So how does Trick Pony feel about joining the Curb family? Bassist Ira Dean says, "I've never been known to take the high road. I feel fortunate for the success we've had in past, but now I know our brightest days still lie ahead."
Guitarist Keith Burns echoes that sentiment: "I haven't been this excited about our career and music in years!"
With a debut single ready to ship to radio and a new album coming in the fall, vocalist Heidi Newfield sums it up best. "Number one: the music has to be great, it has to speak for itself. I believe in this new music and now we have a TEAM in Curb-Asylum that believes right along with us. Creatively there is no glass ceiling on us and no limit now to what we can do. THAT IS EXCITING!!!"
Trick Pony joins an impressive list of talent, which includes Wynonna, Hank Williams, Jr., LeAnn Rimes, Lisa Brokop, Blue County, Jeff Carson, Cowboy Crush and Ray Stevens on the Curb-Asylum label.
The band is co-managed by Herbert Graham of Graham Music Management and Chuck Howard. Graham voiced his appreciation of Mike Curb's support, "I want to thank Mike Curb for his vision and his belief in this group since day one. Howard, who also produces Trick Pony, shares a unique spin on the signing, "It's exciting to go somewhere where I've sold so many records in the past!"
