Long-Awaited Debut Album Set to Hit Stores This Summer

Single "I'm Ready" Dominating the Top 40

NEW YORK, NY- May 26, 2004 - Lava/Atlantic Recording artist Cherie will appear on the upcoming July 20th episode of CBS' As the World Turns which tapes in New York on Friday June 4th.  Nominated for multiple Daytime Emmys, As The World Turns, is one of the most successful daytime dramas to date.  Cherie will perform her signature, soaring balled "Older Than My Years," which appears on her self-titled debut album due to hit stores this summer.  Cherie's music is no stranger to television.  In fact, her breakthrough single, "I'm Ready" as well as additional songs off her debut, can be heard all over the airwaves in promos for CBS, Lifetime and UPN.  "I'm Ready" can also be heard in conjunction with the new national advertising campaign for Dell Computers.

Having received its official debut as part of the America Online Service's Breakers program, Cherie's music has been played over 250,000 times on the AOL Music® channel. Cherie's recently taped Sessions@AOL appearance will launch on the service in the coming weeks.  Cherie joins the ranks with Avril Lavigne, Michelle Branch, Josh Groban, 50 Cent and Jet, each of whom was named to the AOL® Service's Breakers program at the beginning stages of their careers.

"I'm Ready" is not only dominating television, but is taking over the charts at radio as well.  The song, which was recently the #2 most added song at the Top 40 radio format, entered the Top 40 chart at #37 and is currently #31, being spun by key stations across the country, including KIIS FM/ Los Angeles, WXKS/Boston, WIOQ/ Philly, Y100/ Miami and Star/ Atlanta. The up-tempo breakthrough track features the familiar guitar lick from Foreigner's "Urgent" and was showcased as the main title theme for the Disney film, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, starring Lindsay Lohan.  Cherie just wrapped production on the video for "I'm Ready," which was shot in LA by director Liz Friedlander, whose video credits include Kelly Clarkson, Avril Lavigne, and Simple Plan among others.
