Lava Recording Artists Antigone Rising And Louque To Appear At 2004 Bonnaroo Music Festival

NEW YORK, NY - JUNE 3, 2004 - Lava Recording artists Antigone Rising and louque are headed south to Manchester, Tennessee for the 3-day music and camping festival otherwise known as Bonnaroo.  The third annual festival will take place at the same 700-acre farm in Manchester, Tennessee on June 11-13th.  Both Antigone Rising and louque are brimming with excitement to join the eclectic lineup featuring Dave Matthews & Friends, Bob Dylan, Burning Spear, Gillian Welch, Femi Kuti, Damien Rice, My Morning Jacket and many others.  Bonnaroo is considered by many to be the most adventurous and open minded must-see events of the summer.

Antigone Rising, described by Rolling Stone as having "country-gospel harmonies of a biker Dixie Chicks," features siblings Cathy and Kristen Hendersen on guitars, petite, vocal belter Cassidy, drummer Dena Tauriello and bassist Jen Zielenbach.  This all-girl, five-piece ensemble combines Skynyrd-like guitar riffs with 3-part, pristine harmonies and story-filled lyrics.   Antigone Rising recently put the final touches on their upcoming Lava Records debut Cali Says Hi featuring their trademark, countrified blend of straight up rock n' roll.  In addition, the girls are featured in the upcoming July issue of Elle Magazine and are doing live dates this summer with Cowboy Mouth, Dave Matthews and Better Than Ezra.

Lava/Everfine recording artist louque will also be making the trek to Tennessee to perform songs off his critically acclaimed debut album So Long which was released on May 18th.  Since release, louque has hit the road with a variety of eclectic artists including G. Love & Special Sauce, The Black Eyed Peas, Jem and Matt Nathanson.  Dubbed by Esquire Magazine as "One of the Best New Bands of '04," and touted by Genre Magazine as a "bestseller in the making," So Long's sound, dubbed 'faya', is heavily steeped in Louisiana culture while borrowing from a variety of influences including folk, soul, electronic and dancehall.
