Critically Acclaimed UK Band Skindred Inks With Lava Records. Multi-Cultural Rock Outfit To Release 'Babylon' on September 7, 2004. Ragga Metal Band Sure To Get Under America's Collective Skin While On Tour With Nonpoint And Sevendust.

New York, NY- July 19th, 2004 -U.K. - Experimental reggae/rock hybrid Skindred are ready to unleash
their U.S. debut album "Babylon" on September 7th.  The South Wales, four-piece band, fronted by former Dub War vocalist Benji Webbe, will be supporting
their album on tour with label mates Nonpoint and
TVT recording artist Sevendust.  The tour kicked off earlier this month in Lake Park, Florida and will continue on through August 7th ending in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.  British magazine Q describes Skindred's vocalist as a "God fearing black man brought up on
the mean streets of Newport on equal doses of Sex Pistols and Max Romeo," while music bible NME describes Skindred's sound as "Bad Brains-style
ragga-punk."  In other words, picture Sean Paul
fronting System of a Down or Bounty Killa rocking alongside the Clash - you dig?   Previously released in the UK, Skindred's U.S. debut  "Babylon" features a whopping 17 tracks, five of which were recorded specifically for the domestic version. Highlights from
the disc include the distinctive first single Nobody
which is already garnering requests at both Alternative and Rock radio.  Other key tracks on the album
include The Fear, a stellar, reggae re-working of the infamous Clash tune London Calling and the barnstorming, bass booming track "Set It Off."   Skindred are Benji Webbe on vocals; Mike Dee on guitar; Daniel Puglsey on bass and Dirty Arya on drums.  For more information, go to Skindred.com
