The Morning After Concert Review
at Hard Rock Live

February 11, 2005 - Orlando, FL - If you heard any material from Code Sunshine during the past few years then you may have experienced a part of The Morning After.

Previously known as Code Sunshine. My thoughts are while Code Sunshine was a cut above and it was very good music, the material on the new CD which scheduled to drop in March 2005 called “ Faces For Radio, ” is going to be leaps and bounds better! The overall live production is better, the music is better, the band is tighter, the vocals are more powerful, and the songs just sound better overall. Not only that, the band seems to have gained an even harder edge to a lot of their music, which is always a good thing to get the crowd into it like they were at the Hardrock Live show.

I often watch the crowd more than the band to see reactions both positive and negative. NO NEGATIVES observed about this band as the crowd and the band were in the moment so much that you felt the connection with the music on the floor.

They still maintain the same style (which I labeled "alternative / rock / with a touch of groove-grunge" for lack of a better term), but you can definitely tell that playing together both in practice and on the stage has matured this band, and it is all for the good!

I had a chance to ask the band what inspires them to keep making music and doing live shows all over Florida? Their Response: "As for what inspires us - shows like Friday's at Hard Rock Live inspires us. The crowd singing the chorus of "I Drink Alone" for us...being two hours from our hometown and still having close to 200 fans of ours there. Working with multi-platinum producer Sylvia Massy Shivy also really gave us a needed jumpstart as we were getting a bit discouraged. But when you see all of her platinum albums in her office, you know that you're getting closer to achieving your goals. And playing at the House of Blues on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood was pretty big too - really made us feel a new drive to continue what we're doing."

Again, I want to state clearly, for the record, this is NOT a metal album at all. What this is, however, is an incredibly talented band putting together aggressive, unique hard rock with a grind that I really can not accurately compare to anything I have ever heard. I wish I could give a description of "this song..." or "this band sounds like so-and-so...", but they are simply a band unlike any I have heard before.

Everyone who has an open mind and wants to hear powerful music with a bold message should visit The Morning After websites and listen to the material. And order the new CD
as soon as it becomes available. If you get the chance to
see them live by all means DO IT! You will not regret it.

The Morning After hails from Sarasota, FL and regularly play shows in Florida. The Band consists of Sven Struble - Vocals, Bret Calltharp - Guitars, Mark Medeiros - Guitars, Tim McDanel - Bass and Brett Jones - Drums.
