Static-X
at State Theater
City: St. Petersburg, FL |
July 7, 2005 - I've always been a big Static-X fan but
never had the opportunity to see them live until tonight.
Let me tell you I was in for the show of my life. Static-X
took the stage at a little past 11:00 pm and by the reaction
of the crowd, it was just in time.
The State Theater is a place I've been to many times
in my life to see shows, but I haven't seen this many
people at this venue in a long time and with the
upstairs balcony now fully reopened the place was
totally packed. Static-X opened
with "Bleed For
Days" and
let us through a non stop
assault for the
better half of
over an
hour with Black & White, Cold,
Destroy All & Kill
Your Idols.
Running through old stuff like - "Push It," "This Is Not,"
I'm
With Stupid" and newer stuff like - Enemy, I Want To
Fu#king
Break It, Dirthouse & I'm The One. The band
was razor
sharp and extremely tight. Wayne Static and
Koichi Fukada, were right on every note as was
Tony Campos and
Nick Oshiro, the backbone of the
band.
With very few breaks in between songs, except for
an occasional drink here and there, they do all their
talking
with their music.
I've seen a lot of bands that put on a great show but I
have
to say Static-X will give you that and then some. If
they
come to a town near you do not miss them because
the
line up they have now will give you a show you won't
soon forget.
Static-X is:
Wayne Static - Lead Vocals/Guitar
Koichi Fukada - Guitar/Samples
Tony Campos - Bass/Backing Vocals
Nick Oshiro - Drums
Static-X is from Los Angeles, CA and tour on a regular basis. Music by Static-X can be sampled at their Myspace Page.
