On the Nintendo Fusion Tour
at Hard Rock Live in Orlando , FL
Nov 8, 2004 - Bright lights... Synchronized acrobatics...
A crowd in awe... if you think I'm referring to a night at
the circus then you're sadly mistaken. Actually, I'm
talking about the Nintendo Fusion tour, headlined by Missouri's
own Story of the Year.
Even
though Story Of The Year have only been together for a short
while, they have definitely spent more than enough time perfecting
their live show.
Anyone
who has seen them knows that, and tonight was no exception. Blazing from song to song, guitarist
Ryan Phillips jumped off the stage and ran
around the entire audience playing and exclaiming that everyone
could see his balls through a hole in his pants. Yet, through
all of the excitement they never skipped a beat.
They even
pulled off a cover, with the help of an audience member, of
Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Sweet Home Alabama," which they blended into
a medley containing the Goo Goo Dolls' "Iris,"
and Kansas' "Wayward
Son."
The band even brought out their guitar tech Dave and
a birthday cake and asked everyone to sing "happy birthday" to
him.
After
a night of stagediving, screaming and good old not-necessarily-clean
fun it's no big surprise why so many people
have showed up for this and other Story of the Year shows.
If you haven't had the opportunity to see them, or simply let
it pass you by, I suggest that you go see them next time around. (Click
