"Sister Hazel Rocks The House"
by Patty Barwick/FloridaEntertainmentScene.com |
July 9, 2005 - Myrtle Beach, SC - Sister Hazel always puts on a great show but this time, they topped their personal best recently at the House of Blues. Opening the show
was Dezerays' Hammer and the Sam Thacker Band, both
up and coming groups.
Dezeray's Hammer was an interesting duo, performing everything from Prince's "Purple Rain" to their own
original lyrics and music. They had a good sound, but nothing to differentiate them from scores of other bar bands.
The Sam Thacker Band featured four band members who were simply amazing. The lead singer's voice was mesmerizing, and the vocals blended for sheer enjoyment
of every song. This band was a definite up and coming
new talent and one that music lovers should watch for.
Sister Hazel, as the main act, was wonderful as
always. They never fail to impress their fans with an amazing
show, combining their perfect sound with a true rapport
with the audience. The band added two new
songs to
their very popular standard hits. Their play list included favorites such as Come Around, Swan Dive,
Happy, Everybody and their signature favorite, All For You.
Fans never fail to rock the house by singing along with that hit, and the band members seemed truly thrilled by the response. This group of musicians not only have a great sound time and time again, but also draw the audience in
by being approachable and likeable.
They also give their fans their money's worth, playing for well over two hours. Concert goers ranged from six to sixty and every one of them knew all the words to the songs. Sister Hazel remains one of those consistent bands with loyal fans who simply love their music.
House of Blues is a stellar venue, offering comfort and variety for their fans. If Sister Hazel's tour comes to a spot near you, it is well worth the price of admission.
