July 9, 2005 - With Seether's new release "Karma & Effect"
the band has transformed into a force to be reckoned
with. This CD shows a much more experienced song
writing crew and a knack for writing catchy riffs
with melodic vocals and a powerhouse rhythm section.
1. Because Of You - Nice guitar work to open this track
and it has a powerhouse verse and chorus section.
The vocalist adds to this song by mixing his styles up
a lot. Outstanding guitar solo.
2. Remedy - Great radio song here with a catchy lyrics
and beats.
3. Truth - Starts slow and picks up only to slow down
again. It has a nice attention keeper by changing it up a bit.
4. The Gift - A very melodic feeling song here that you
could listen to over and over again. Guitar uses some
great effects to add a dimension to the song.
5. Burrito - Oh, rock it! Heavy rock song here. The
drummer does a great job of using his experience to
better the feeling of this song.
6. Given - Chorus laden guitar adds a nice touch to the
intro then pounds out into a heavy chorus.
7. Never Leave - Acoustic playing at the start is nicely done and shows a guitarist that knows how it's done right.
Vocals add a nice touch in the way here phrases things.
8. World Falls Away - Guitar+Wah = Rocking tune. The
guitar riff that is used in the verse section is a great riff
and allows the vocals to branch out.
9. Tongue - Very different beginning. Lyrics are definitely different but help make the song different and unique.
10. I'm The One - Another powerhouse rock track with grooving guitars and percussion section that keeps it
all together.
11. Simplest Mistake - Nice & heavy. Guitars don't let up
and neither does the vocals and rhythm section.
12. Diseased - Radio sounding beginning, I dug a lot.
Vocals flow so smooth with the flow of the track.
Per-chorus vocals have a nice touch using the same
radio effects style.
13. Plastic Man - Great feeling on the acoustic intro,
nicely done on the guitarist part.
14. Untitled Track - Kind of a groovy Red Hot Chili
Pepper trippy feel in this studio track. Cool song.
