Our Lady Peace
" Healthy In Paranoid Times" CD Review
Release Date: August 30, 2005
Released by: Sony Music

July 12, 2005 - Our Lady Peace strikes gold with their
latest release "Healthy In Paranoid Times." They add a
lot of different styles to make up this outstanding CD
and go above and beyond to separate themselves from
the rest of the pack.

1. Angels Losing Sleep - Here's a great radio rock
friendly sound that pulls out the stops.

2. Will The Future Blame Us - Guitars crank out from
the start. Nicely written song. Experience shows here.

3. Picture - Acoustics start off the track to only pick up
pace in the chorus.

4. Where Are You (Best Days) - This track has a real punk pop feel to it, which isn't a bad thing. The overall structure
of the song is written well.

5. Wipe That Smile Off Your Face - Cool delay effect at the beginning. I like when bands do things differently & take chances.

6. Love & Trust - The beginning kind of for a split second reminded me of The Cure and it has a kind of old school
feel to it like old U2.

7. Boy - Nice pace to start of this outstanding song. This song shows what kind of songwriters these guys are.

8. Apology - Very low key, slow based track that really
puts you in a relaxed frame of mind. Guitarist keeps you attention, as does the rhythm section.

9. The World On A String - Groovy upbeat song where the guitars, vocals & rhythm section get to shine and show people how it's done.

10. Don't Stop - Another outstanding song here. The lyrics tell the story very well in the way it's laid out.

11. Walking In Circles - The way the guitars are layered
adds a thicker feel to the track cause they're doing
different riffs & it helps the rest of the band flow around
the riffs & also add to it.

12. Al Genina (Leave A Light On) - Great acoustic riff to
start off the song. I love when a song has a strong feel to
it that pulls you in & you feel like you're in the story as its being told.
