Monét - "Monét 2005" CD Review
Released by: Monét |
September 16, 2005 - Monét's 9 song demo album produces 9 radio ready pop songs that will get anyone from teenager to adult singing along.
She has a very steady ranged voice and controls it perfectly to compliment the music behind her. The songs range from sounding country rock to classic rock.
Track number 3, starts off as a regular, but catchy pop song and then introduces a guest rapper and it gives the song a new feel from the others. It is also very melodic and her vocal effects are enchanting.
Track 4, I found very enjoyable because the guitar had a very warm country feel to it. It was a song I could really relax to at home on a Saturday afternoon.
Monét throws in a cover of "Lately" midway, on track number 5. It's very fresh, cute, and pop. This classic remake is followed by a song about being stuck in a love triangle. It's enjoyable to hear what she goes through and it's very bass driven and funky in the verses and classic pop in the chorus.
Track number 7, is the first slower song on the album and it is very pretty and allows her to demonstrate her vocal ability.
Track number 8, I enjoyed the blues intro and the last track had some really cool strings that supported the emotion of this other last love song that completed this perfectly pop produced album.
A true musician, Monét also played guitar and piano on this album and said she wants to tackle playing the drums next.
Rarely will you hear music of this depth, from one so young (Monét is 15 years old).
I give Monét's CD two thumbs up for enjoyable music from a very talented musician.
