On the Nintendo Fusion Tour at Hard Rock Live - Orlando, FL
Nov 8, 2004 - There have been two times in my live prior
to tonight where I have seen a singer as well loved and respected
as My Chemical Romance's Gerard Way.
Before I watched their performance tonight, I'll admit,
I was skeptical to say the least. I figured they were overrated
and that they wouldn't be very impressive. But Gerard said it best
when he once claimed "For
me [being onstage] is me being everything I always wanted to be,
it erases everything I hate about myself. Nothing can hurt me. I
feel completely invincible. I feel like everyone else on that stage
is invincible and we're capable of anything. There's no stopping
us." And, I agree, from this stage nothing can stop them.
Ranging in material from the older songs such as "Vampires
won't hurt you" from their 2002 debut album I Brought you my
Bullets, You Brought Me your Love to newer, yet still amazing songs
like Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge's "You know what they do
to guys like us in Prison," My Chemical Romance definitely know
how to cater to their fans' taste. Engaging fans in everything from
snapping their fingers to spouting an Italian greeting of "Bo
journo!" I'd like to think everyone at least had a good chuckle.

Laughing matters aside, they are a group that stands apart from
most others. With their dark, whimsical appearances and engaging
show, My Chemical Romance can (and should be) seen as one band that
would be a tough act to follow.
