August 8 , 2007 - Recently we chatted with members of Madina Lake, the way cool band who are playing on the Revolution Stage on this year's Projekt Revolution Tour. Below is what they had to say with us.

Madina Lake |
FES: How did Madina Lake get selected for this year's Projekt Revolution Tour lineup?
Madina Lake: I don't think we're exactly sure to be honest.... We heard that it was Linkin Park who was personally responsible for choosing all the bands, so we are completely honored!
FES: What are your thoughts on being selected to perform on this year’s Projekt Revolution Tour?
Madina Lake: It doesn't get any better. We've never been a part of such a professional tour with bands of this caliber. it definitely made our summer, and we are going to make sure we give our shows 150% everyday, a chance like this doesn't often happen for a band like us.
FES: For fans that have not yet seen Madina Lake in concert can you tell us a little about the band and what we can expect when Madina Lake hits the Projekt Revolution Tour stage?
Madina Lake: For those who haven't seen us, you can be sure you'll see an energetic show that's completely unpredictable. All of us are completely passionate about what we do with the band and we lose our minds every time we play. Whether it's Nathan, breaking his chin or lip on the cement after a dive from the rafters or us being joined on stage by as many audience members as it'll fit, we don't take any shows for granted or make any part routine.
FES: Now that Projekt Revolution Tour has started what has it been like so far for Madina Lake?
Madina Lake: it's been the best touring experience we've ever had. The tour is set up so that no two bands are playing at any one time, which is amazing for bands like us on the second stage because the crowed doesn't have to choose between bands to watch. It’s amazing, this is absolutely the way these kind of shows should be, there is no reason to create unnecessary competition between bands. Everyone one the tour is totally down to earth and there is more of a laid back vibe to the whole thing because of it. There is also a diverse crowd there everyday due to the eclectic group of bands on the bill. It's the best situation we could have, we play in front of a huge group of people everyday that we may not have had a chance to play in front of otherwise, and then spend the rest of the afternoon meeting as many of them as we can.
FES: How many songs will Madina Lake be performing during their Projekt Revolution Tour set?
Madina Lake: We have 25 minutes a day so as many as we can, usually about five or six.
FES: Does Madina Lake plan on chronicling the band's exploits on The Projekt Revolution tour and if so where can fans go to see or read it?
Madina Lake: Yes we are! We have been followed around by video cameras none stop, and have our own as well to capture anything else ridiculous we can find. Keep posted to our website/myspace page for updates on where to find clips. [Website addresses listed at the bottom of page.]
FES: What does the band do to kill time when traveling from show to show?
Madina Lake: We are still traveling on this tour in our van and trailer which makes for a lot of interesting conversation and new nicknames for each other mostly. We don't have any TVs or movies or video games in the van so besides that it's usually the same Cypress Hill CD on the iPod over and over, or us yelling and damning Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity to hell on Fox news radio.
FES: There are two Florida dates on this year's Projekt Revolution Tour. What are your thoughts on these two shows?
Madina Lake: We love playing Florida, some of the coolest people we've met have been there, and the palm trees make us feel like we are on vacation. Unfortunately we are going to be in Japan playing the SummerSonic festival during those Projekt Revolution dates. Super excited for that, but completely bummed to be missing the state of sunshine on this one.
FES: Out of all the bands playing on this year's Projekt Revolution Tour, excluding Madina Lake, who would you say is the must see performer?
Madina Lake: Million great bands but Linkin Park and My Chem have completely blown us away every night. If anyone hasn't seen them make sure you do on this tour, but don't stand to close or you might get burned from the many fireballs and massive light the have flying off the stage!
FES: Do you have anything to say to fans that have or will be coming to see Madina Lake perform on this year's Projekt Revolution Tour?
Madina Lake: We can't thank you enough and it means the world to us that you're there early standing in 10,000 degree weather to see us!
