The help us bring you Concert Listings, Interviews, Reviews and More
August 8 , 2007 - Recently we chatted with guitarist Mikey Doling of Invitro who are presently playing on the Guitar Hero II Stage on this year’s Family Values Tour. Below is what he had to say to us.
FES : How did Invitro get selected for this year's Family Values Tour lineup?
Mikey: I’ve friends with Korn for years and toured with them back when I was in
Snot. When we were looking for summer tours and heard about this year’s
Family Values Tour, we fought to get ourselves [on] the tour.
FES : What are your thoughts on Invitro being selected to perform on this
year’s Family Values Tour?
Mikey: I think it wonderful that they have decided to take us out on tour with
FES : Now that the Family Values Tour has started what has it been like so
far for Invitro?
Mikey: The kids have been crazy. We’ve been playing in front of thousands of
kids each day and signing lots of posters for kids after we play. The pits have been crazy and the crowds been great.
FES : For fans that have not yet seen Invitro in concert can you tell us a
little about the band and what we can expect when Invitro hits the
Guitar Hero II Stage?
Mikey: If you come to an Invitro show your always gonna have a good time. You
can expect very high energy entertainment. If you like loud guitars and
high energy rock music then we’re exactly what you’re looking for.
FES : Does Invitro plan on chronicling the band's exploits on The Family
Values Tour and if so where can fans go to see or read it?
Mikey: Check out myspace.com/invitrorules as we keep our fans updated
through that and we have tons of blogs and posts up on the site. You can
also pre-order our new album “When I Was a Planet,” which comes out
September 11, 2007, through the site.
FES : What does the band do to kill time in between shows and on off days?
Mikey: We drink a lot of beer and try and sweat out all the whiskey from the
night before. We also have a new game where girls ride topless with us
to the next show.
FES : How many songs will Invitro be performing?
Mikey: We get about a half hour each day, so about 10 songs.
FES : Out of all the bands playing, excluding Invitro, who would you say is
the must see performer?
Mikey: Hell Yeah and Five Finger Death Punch. Hell Yeah is amazing and always a
great time and watching Five Finger Death Punch is like watching a
bloodbath every day.
FES : Do you have anything to say to the fans that have and will see
Invitro perform on this year’s Family Values Tour?
Mikey: Get your ass out there and bring us some food and coffee! Just kidding;
we just want everyone to come out and see Invitro on the Family Values
Tour. Also, our new record “When I Was a Planet” comes out September
11, 2007 on Gridiron Records so please go out and buy the record. We don’t
sell records to make any money, all the money we make from album sales
allows us to stay out on the road and continue touring.
Invitro's latest album "When I Was a Planet" is scheduled for release on September 11, 2007 on GridIron Records.
Invitro is from Los Angeles, CA and tour on a regular basis.
