Q: How hard was it to get inked to a deal with Victory Records?

HH: It was definitely a tough process.  Getting signed to any label takes a lot of work.

Q: Where did the band perform when they showcased for Victory?

HH: We performed at a rehearsal studio in Chicago.  It wasn't a real show so it was kind of akward having 25 people from the label standing there just starring at you.

Q: Your debut album "Silence in Black & White" comes out June 1,
2004, What are your thoughts on this album?

HH: We love it!  Its by far the best material we've written to date.

Q: How long did it take to produce the album?

HH: It took us about a month to record the album.

Q: Who decides what songs will be released as singles and what will those songs be?

HH: That's a mix of us and the label.  We were actually pretty much on the same page with Victory on this.  Ohio Is For Lovers will be the first single and if things go well, either Niki FM or Silver Bullet will be the next singles.

Q: Will there by any Music Videos made, If so, what songs?

HH: We're filming a video for Ohio Is For Lovers on May 28th.

Q: Where does the band draw inspiration for your songs?

HH: We draw inspiration from the ups and downs of every day life and relationships.  We try to write music that moves us and makes us happy.

Q: Your playing a show in Orlando on June 12 at Will's Pub with
Emery & Silverstein, and then in Tampa at The Orpheum the next night what are your thoughts on these shows?

HH: These shows should be great. We played both places on our last tour so we know the venues are great.  This time there ought to be a lot more people there because we're playing with a lot bigger bands.

Q: Will fans be able to buy copies of your album at your shows?

HH: Yes, definitely!

Q: We all know what the record labels think of online downloading of music. How do you as musicians feel about this subject?

HH: We think downloading of music can be a good thing.  It helps people hear more about us, which means more people at our shows.  That's definitely a good thing for us.

Q: How can fans put messages on your message board?

HH: Fans simply need to go to our website: hawthorneheights.com and click on message board.  Once there, click the register link and fill in the info.  Its pretty easy.

Q: How often does the band read and respond to their message board?

HH: We read and respond to our message board as much as possible, which usually means whenever we have access to a computer.  Usually, its every couple of days we're on there.

Q: What do you think the future holds in store for Hawthorne Heights?

HH: Hopefully some more big tours like the one we're currently on.

Q: Is there anything you would like to say to the fans of Hawthorne Heights?

HH: Thank you for listening to us.  We love you all!  Don't forget to buy our CD when it comes out!

Q: Thank you for your time. I wish you guys much success.

HH: Thank you for the interview!
